Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with longtime publisher.
Acclaimed children's author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.
An official for the publisher commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour directed at young women.
The publisher did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.
A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
To date, he has released more than 40 books in total, encompassing a Christmas book named *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.
From Screen to Page
His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
