Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Fatal Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities stated on Wednesday night. The fighter was part of a serious road collision outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to “recuperate at home”.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were identified as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and full of emotions over the passing of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans had expressed its support for the star in the aftermath of the heartbreaking incident.
